Start again with the Planning Worksheet to determine how to use this section. The worksheet asks you, your son or daughter, and others on the IEP committee to rate the following statements on a three point scale.

Your son/daughter has identified:

  • Colleges that match interests with academic programs and support needs

  • Admission requirements in colleges of interest

Your son/daughter has completed:

  • Pre-college admissions and/or placement testing

  • Competitive college applications, supporting letters, and essays

  • Financial aid application

  • Establishing eligibility for services by meeting with the disability services coordinator

To help prepare for the next (junior year) IEP meeting use the Applying to College Section. Following your rating of statement, there is space to record questions, concerns or thoughts, for the IEP committee. Copy and take it with you to the meeting. If you are not having a meeting, complete the rating form to help decide where to start.
