Since admission requirements and procedures vary greatly between types of schools (4 year, 2 year and technical institutes), it is important to conduct research tailored to the student's interests. High school counselors and career center specialists can be key to this research. Having the student verify what they find out with these staff will ensure accurate information. The counselor will also be working with the student to keep track of required high school classes.
