As you learned before, the Post-ITT Planning
Worksheet will help you determine where to begin in this section.
The worksheet asks you, your son or daughter, and others on the
IEP committee to rate the following statements on a three
point scale. It is appropriate for use by all parties, including
the student. In this parent course the worksheet is broken into
sections so you can focus on one section at a time. Planning for
College contains five points to consider.
Identifying:
- Personal interests
- Possible career choices
- A college goal based on interests and strengths
- Academic courses required to meet college goal
- A high school timeline of planning and application
activities
To help prepare for the next IEP meeting, use the
Planning for College Section of the Planning Worksheet.
Following your rating of each point, there is room to record questions,
concerns or thoughts, for the IEP committee. Copy and take with
you to the meeting. If you are not meeting, complete the rating
form to help decide where to start with the Guidance Activities.
