Learning Styles

From personal experience, you have information on how your son or daughter learns best. Learning style inventories can also be very helpful .An inventory can reinforce what you already know or give new insights. Even if people disagree with the results of a learning style inventory, they have begun thinking about how they learn. Assessing learning style could be a shared experience, with each family member participating. Learning about yourself can be fun. In addition to the VARK, recommended in Activity 1, there are many other Internet based inventories to choose from. To find others, use http://www.google.com and type in “learning style inventory” or obtain a recommendation from the high school career center.
