Overview

Youth with disabilities considering college must be prepared both academically and for the new way they will get support. By forming a strong team to work with students during the high school years, special educators and counselors will improve students pre-college decisions and ability to thrive once enrolled in college. The Postsecondary Innovative Transition Technology (Post-ITT) resources will help you help them.

This instructional module covers the basic concepts needed to develop a coordinated set of activities designed to reach the goal of successful entry into postsecondary education. When you complete the module, you will understand how to use the Post-ITT Web site and Guidance Activities.

You can scan for topics of interest by using the index at the left. Because the module treats transition to college in a comprehensive manner, you may find that it is most useful using it a section at a time. If you prefer to read from the printed page, The Post-ITT Teachers' Manual provides similar information.
