Post-ITT is designed to be implemented over the three or four years of high school. The activities build on each other and include sections on:

Self-Knowledge

Self-knowledge and developing the ability to use that knowledge to advocate for academic adjustments should start early in high school and be continued throughout all four years. We recommend that Activities 1-9 be introduced in 9th grade.

Assistive Technology

Assistive technology is a common (often essential) means of gaining access to instruction. Activities 10-17 introduce students to the concept and have them participate in a self-assessment and research into various forms of high and low technology that can help them in school. We recommend this section be introduced in the 9th grade.

Planning for College

Planning for college is something that all college bound students should do. Activities 19-25 introduce students to the elements of planning specific to meeting their support needs. The section is introduced in 10th grade.

Applying to College

Applying to college can be complex or relatively straightforward but it does require action. Using the tasks and timelines in Activities 26 through 35, sophomores, juniors and seniors are guided to do what needs to be done.

Accessing Disability Services

Accessing the Disability Services (DS) office is an essential step for anyone wishing to get academic adjustments and services in college. Using Activities 36-43, juniors and seniors learn about the DS office, disability documentation that will be expected, and available services.

Accessing Adult Services

Adult Services may be import resources for students with disabilities. Activities 44 and 45 help students research these services and how to apply for them.
