School Policies and Procedures

Your school may have existing policies and procedures that will affect how students will undertake some of these Activities. For instance:
  • Confidential File Information -- What is your district’s procedure regarding student access to file information?

  • Off-campus activities -- you may choose to release students to do research off-campus at a local college. What are your school’s policies?

  • Requesting Accommodations -- Are the Activities consistent with your school’s current procedures? If you need to make changes, how will you go about doing that?

  • Curriculum Approval -- Does new curriculum need to be approved?

Scheduling

As you preview these Activities, consider the logistics.
  • Do you need to make advance arrangements to use a computer lab or the career center in your building?

  • How will you be affecting the schedules of your colleagues (teachers, counselors, specialists, clerical staff, and administrators)?

  • Where do the Activities naturally integrate with your service delivery system?
